• The H13 Prize 2025 is endowed with € 5,000.
• The winning performance will be presented live on Fri, 21.11.2025 at Kunstraum Niederoesterreich.
• The accompanying exhibition will be on view there from Sat, 22.11. until Sat, 06.12.2025.
• A two weeks residency at Studio Voltaire (in February 2026), which offers a wide range of opportunities for creative exchange and professional development.
• In addition to the prize money, the Kunstraum provides € 3,000 for the realization of the winning performance project and the accompanying exhibition.
• The Kunstraum provides a two-person set-up team (max. 2-3 days) by arrangement. 
• On November 13th/14th/17th/18th/19th, there is the possibility to use the Kunstraum for rehearsals, preparations, and setup in arrangement with the team. Site visits are possible from June onwards by prior arrangement. 
• Photo documentation of the performance & the exhibition, as well as a video documentation (rough cut, filmed from one angle), will be provided by the Kunstraum upon request.

• The open call is intended for all artists who have been living and working in Austria since at least one year.
• Artist duos or collectives may also apply.
• The submitted concepts should reflect and consider the spatial conditions of Kunstraum Niederoesterreich. A floor plan of Kunstraum Niederoesterreich (not obligatory to use) as well as a list of available technical equipment, are downloadable HERE.
• The submitted performances (in the form of concepts) must not have been shown anywhere else before 21.11.2025.
• Every application is made without legal recourse. With their participation, all applicants acknowledge the decision of the jury. The applicant must be the author of the submitted work (Copyright Act, Section 10, Paragraph 1).

The submission must be completed by Fri, 11.04.2025, 11.59pm (CET) and must include the following information:

• Complete online application form (step by step support)
• Title of the submitted concept
• Concept proposal (in English!): The concept of the performance and the exhibition for Kunstraum Niederoesterreich in written form with max. 2 pages (excl. sketches, photos, etc.)
• Cost calculation (within a maximum of € 3,000) of the production of the performance and installational presentation/exhibition (including transportation, additional technical equipment, etc.). If external funding is applied for, a plan must be provided in case the funding is not granted.

An annually changing jury, put together by the artistic director of Kunstraum Niederoesterreich, selects the prize-winning project from the submissions.

The equipment can be used for free and by arrangement.

The submitted performances (in the form of concepts) must not have been presented in public before. The adaptation or further development of a performance/project is possible.

The production budget of € 3,000 should include:

• Material costs
• Transportation costs
• Fees for other contributors (e.g. sound, stage design, co-performers)
• Travel and accommodation costs, if applicable

Kunstraum Niederoesterreich is committed to paying artists and project participants FAIRpay wherever possible. We kindly ask you to consider this when budgeting fees. HERE you can find current reference values.

Kunstraum Niederoesterreich provides: 

• Photo documentation of the performance & the exhibition
• Video documentation (rough cut, filmed from one angle)
• Set-up assistance (max. 2-3 days)
• Free use of the available technical equipment
• Sound technician during the live performance

Yes, you can apply for additional funding or material sponsorship yourself - to increase the production budget. We are happy to support you with applications. 

However, the budget of the submitted project may not exceed € 3,000! Additional funding may be used to expand the basic concept. If external funding is applied for, a plan must be provided in case the funding is not granted.

• On November 13th/14th/17th/18th/19th, there is the possibility to use the Kunstraum for rehearsals, preparations, and setup in arrangement with the team. Site visits are possible from June onwards by prior arrangement. 
• Our two-person set-up team will support you with the installation work if required (max. 2-3 days).
• Core time for preparations & rehearsals is Mon-Fri 9am-6pm, on weekends and public holidays this is not possible.

Co-performers can be selected and confirmed at a later stage during project planning. They do not have to be named in the submission. 

Please note that the fee for co-performers must be paid from the EUR 3,000 production budget, so please consider this when budgeting (FAIRpay).

Feedback from the jury is not possible due to the high number of submissions. We kindly ask for your understanding.

The residency is at your free disposal, regardless of the project submitted. The period of the two-week residency will be agreed individually and must take place in February 2026.

As part of this year's partnership with Studio Voltaire, we are pleased to offer the following as part of the residency:

• Flights (round trip)
• Travel costs within London; airport transfer and public transportation in London (Zone 1-2)
• Accommodation
• Per diems
• Space and technical equipment
• Material costs
• Curatorial support by a curator from Studio Voltaire 
• Costs for accessibility if necessary

If a duo or collective wins, only one person can take up the residency.
