Kunstraum Niederoesterreich is a lively space for contemporary art in Vienna. Our program consists of exhibitions, performances, and discursive formats and presents the work of emerging artists based in Austria as well as international artistic positions.

Since its founding in 2005, the primary focus of Kunstraum Niederoesterreich is to promote time-based media, above all the medium of performance in the context of visual art. This ambition culminates in the annual awarding of the H13 Lower Austria Prize for Performance, to date the only award of its kind for performance art in Austria.

With free admission to all of our events, Kunstraum Niederoesterreich offers an open space for different audiences where visitors can develop their own approaches to art, supported by our multifaceted art mediation program. In addition to conventional education formats, we place special emphasis on project work with associations active in social work.
